Meet the Fairy Dog Mother – dog groomer Caitlin Brough. Caitlin will be joining our lively business community here at Heathhall Business Centre in the next few months, providing pampering for your precious pooches.
Dog Grooming at Heathhall
Dumfries-born Caitlin trained at the prestigious Pampered Pets in Greenock, one of Scotland’s premier dog grooming training academies. As well as providing a full range of grooming services, Caitlin will also offer a self-wash and dry facility for customers to use after perhaps a particularly muddy walk in Heathhall forest!
Doggy Daycare Service
Whilst the Fairy Dog Mother is the first dog grooming service at Heathhall Business Centre, there’s also the well-established doggy daycare facility Wagg this Way Unit at 272 Hurricane Road, so our four legged friends are well catered for.
We caught up with Caitlin to find out why she decided to take the step into self-employment:
“I come from a family of dog lovers and we always had dogs around when I was growing up, so I’m used to working with them and being with them. I started a dog walking business last year and built up regular clientele and the natural progression for me was to take up dog grooming and make it a career. I did some research into grooming courses and qualifications and found pampered Pets in Greenock, who came highly recommended.”
DIY Dog Wash
Caitlin’s grooming packages include wash and dry, nail trims, ear and eye cleaning, ear plucking, full shave and hair trim, and of course the DIY dog wash facility.
“It’s really important to build trust with dogs coming in for grooming, and that was an important part of my training – learning how to keep nervous dogs calm and comfortable in an unfamiliar environment. I’m of course fully insured in my practice and dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome. Being based on Heathhall Business Centre is ideal – lots of parking, free wifi and easy access to the main roads, although I can also do pickup and drop off for anyone without transport”
The Fairy Dog Mother will be open in late June 2020, and meanwhile you can follow Caitlin on her Facebook page.
