The Wood Fuel Co-operative was established in 2011.  Their objective is to supply Members and non-Members with premium quality wood fuel at the most economic prices using members’ combined financial buying power to negotiate big discounts from brand name suppliers.

The idea of a Co-operative was a natural progression for founder Rowland Park.  After working in the woodlands industry for many years he saw an opportunity to deliver wood fuel products in a responsible, accountable and sustainable manner for the benefit of all their members (clients).

Heathhall Business Centre provided the perfect location to start and expand the co-operative.  This year the co-operative negotiated agreement with Heathhall Business Centre to build 3 new, purpose built, storage units in the heart of the Estate adjacent to their existing trade counter unit.

The new storage areas will allow a vast selection of high quality wood fuels to be stored in optimal conditions.  Talking about Heathhall Business Centre Rowland told us: “this is a first-class location. There is high visibility of our product and people can easily see us when they drive past”.

Heathhall Business Centre is delighted it can provide the ideal location and commercial premises for the ever-expanding Wood Fuel Co-Operative.    Rowland tells us “the bulk of our [local] customers are definitely over the threshold, and about 20% of our trade comes online”

As a family business Rowland tells us his daughter Ashley will be hoping to develop the wildlife side of the business further.  As the Co-operative expand their activities, Heathhall Business Centre hopes they can continue to provide the best location in Dumfries to support the Co-Operative’s growth.
