At Heathhall Business Centre (also t/a Dumfries Self Storage), we endeavour to provide the entire package where your storage and moving needs are concerned.

Our Licence restricts our liability to you to for loss or damage to your goods to negligence only up to a maximum of £100 and requires you to arrange insurance cover for Your Goods for the Maximum Replacement Value of your property. As an alternative, we can accept an enhanced liability for loss or damage to your goods which may occur during storage.

The many benefits of StoreProtect Enhanced Liability Protection:

  • StoreProtect does not exclude liability for damage caused by vermin like many insurance policies.
  • Flexibility – The level of cover is adaptable depending on your requirements
  • Competitive – The fully comprehensive cover is very reasonably priced
  • Suitability – StoreProtect cover is suitable for both domestic and business storage needs
  • Our StoreProtect enhanced liability protection is offered as before on a “new replacement basis”. However, as before, there are some restrictions for items, such as jewellery, watches, furs, fine art, beers, wines, and electrical items where the replacement value allows for the age, quality, degree of use and consequent market value.
  • If you make a claim against our liability under StoreProtect, your own household or business insurance policy no claims discount or claims experience will not be affected, which will reduce the possibility of large premium increases following a loss.
  • Once you opt-in, StoreProtect is provided up to your Maximum Replacement Value for the duration of your storage period.
  • Claims under StoreProtect will continue to be handled by a specialist claims adjuster named RCS on our behalf.

Please be aware it is important you correctly estimate your goods declared Maximum Replacment Value is an ‘as new value’. For example, if you declare your goods value as £5,000 but the goods are actually worth £10,000 – You are under-protected by 50% and You would proportionally only receive 50% of any claim.

Please note these indicative values should only be used as a guide only, and Heathhall Business Centre Ltd (also t/a Dumfries Self Storage) will not be held responsible if you under-estimate the maximum replacement value of  your goods.
